You are not the only person who is thinking of learning kitesurf. Many feel this way and many people give up on learning to kitesurf before they even contact a professional instructor. We teamed up Mahmoud Elneny, a friend and experienced instructor in kitesurfing, to help people feel at ease and answer the most frequently asked questions about learning how to kitesurf. He teaches in Egypt’s Red Sea Zone.

Kitesurfing is easy to learn.

Kitesurfing can be learned by anyone, but some have more skill than others. There are a few things that will determine how quickly you learn kitesurfing. You will learn faster if you take lessons in shallow water with good winds and conditions. You might find it takes longer to learn if the spot has waves, gusty winds, or is crowded.

Can girls kitesurf?

Kitesurf is a popular sport among girls. They are quick to learn and seem to have a lot of fun when they are kitesurfing.

Do you need to be a swimmer to learn to kitesurfing?

Kitesurfing is above the water. However, kitesurfing requires you to feel at least comfortable in water and to be able to swim. It is recommended to use a flotation device if you are diving into deep waters.

Are strong arms and legs necessary? What muscles are most needed for kitesurfing

Kitesurfing is a sport where you are pulled by the kite. The harness connects to your kite. You will use your legs to keep your position and your arms to steer your kite. Your thighs and core are the most sought-after muscles. You might be surprised to learn that the more you kitesurf, the stronger your muscles will become. However, your technique will improve so you don’t have to strain your muscles as much. The more skilled you are in kitesurfing, the less effort will be needed.

What age must one be to learn kitesurfing in

The school cannot teach students under 15 years of age for insurance purposes. Privately, however, we are able to teach younger students. Privately, the youngest student I had was a German boy aged 8. His parents were both kitesurfers, and they wanted their children to start learning as soon as possible.

A 70-year-old gentleman from Italy was our oldest student. He’s still full of life, and wants to live it to its fullest.

What’s the hardest thing about learning kitesurfing.

Kitesurfing can seem a bit strange to beginners. You will go faster when you pedal more energy, as you would with a bicycle. Kitesurfing is powered by the wind, which pulls the kite. You don’t have to exert force to make it go faster. Piloting the kite is the best way to harness the wind. Our first goal is to show the student how to fly the kite and harness its power. The balance and how to use the board are the next steps.
